Abbott Elementary and Warner Bros TV want people to know about food insecurity

Abbott Elementary and Warner Bros TV campaign to donate 150,000 meals to Feeding America! Can I love this show anymore???

The first season of Abbott Elementary finale is April 12th (Tuesdays at 9/8c on ABC) and they are asking us to ‘Think Outside The (Lunch) Box’ to benefit Feeding America®  since hunger is often invisible to people. A lot of kids (and their families) count on the breakfast, snacks, and lunch they get at school as main meals. WBTV is donating 150,000 meals* to Feeding America, and the weeklong campaign will harness the connection of social media to raise awareness of Feeding America’s vision of an America where no one is hungry.

One dollar donated to Feeding America can provide at least 10 meals to families because of food bank members. For more information, or to make donations, please visit https://www.feedingamerica.org/abbottelementary.

Elevating the issue of food insecurity is essential in the fight to end hunger. We are grateful to Warner Bros. Television, ABC/Disney, and the Abbott Elementary team for joining us to help ensure that our neighbors facing hunger get the meals that they need

LAUREN BIEDRON, VICE PRESIDENT OF CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS AT FEEDING AMERICA

I won’t buy coffee this week and donate that money! I hope all of you will join me to help feed people and “Think Outside the (Lunch) Box”!

The “Think Outside the (Lunch) Box campaign will run from April 11–15. WBTV will partner with influencer chefs Eitan Bernath and Ahmad Alzahabi, who will create lunchbox meals and discuss the impact of food insecurity with their followers across Instagram and TikTok. Follow Eitan at @eitan on Instagram and TikTok, and follow Ahmad at @thegoldenbalance on Instagram and TikTok.

To promote the campaign, WBTV will post a stylized Abbott Elementary school menu at the start of the week across the @warnerbrostv InstagramTwitter, and Facebook social platforms, introducing the chefs’ schedule for the week.

Abbott Elementary is a workplace comedy about a group of dedicated, passionate teachers — and a slightly tone-deaf principal — who are brought together in a Philadelphia public school where, despite the odds stacked against them, they are determined to help their students succeed in life. Though these incredible public servants may be outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do — even if they don’t love the school district’s less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children. Quinta Brunson created and stars in the series, and she serves as executive producer alongside Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, and Randall Einhorn.
