One of the annual traditions for many who attend San Diego Comic Con every July is a visit to the Stern Pinball Lounge at the San Diego Marriott Marquis where attendees can play some of Stern’s hottest new pinball machines for free.
This year attendees were treated to new games honoring Jaws, John Wick and an upgrade to the classic and popular Godzilla game in celebration of the film’s 70th Anniversary.
Attendees were greeted as they entered the lounge with a cool display of Robert Shaw’s Quint character from Jaws catching a shark with a fishing rod using a giant pinball as bait.
This was all part of the promotion for the cool new Jaws pinball machine that attendees could play.
Cherry the Geek TV then got to play two of the other big games– John Wick and the Godzilla 70th Anniversary-Black and White Premium Edition machines. The Godzilla game is one of Stern Pinball‘s best and most popular games over the past years and in celebration of the original film’s 70th Anniversary, they’ve beautified the game with an exquisite beautiful black and white foil cabinet and a black and white game board with popping colors.
The John Wick game is fast and furious with different contracts, missions and assassins. It tries to capture elements from all four Wick films in it’s gameplay.
It’s hard to describe both games by just reading about them. You have to see them in action. Cherry the Geek TV spoke with Stern Pinball Marketing Manager Joe Marchfield and Stern Pinball Support Engineer Kyle Spiteri who walked us through both games. And finally… we have to mention that Stern Pinball received a visit from a very special guest…John Wick himself–Keanu Reeves–stopped by the Stern Pinball booth at Comic-Con to play the John Wick game! You can watch that video below:
