Hello, true believers! Excelsior! The Life and Legacy of Stan Lee is one of the big new exhibits at the Comic-Con Museum in San Diego. It features rare comic books, original art, and paintings exploring decades of Lee’s work and a section devoted entirely to Lee’s co-creators of the Marvel Universe, including Jack Kirby and Mike Ditko. But did you know that Stan Lee had a brief run as a writer for DC Comics at the turn of 21st century?
Michael Uslan, the originator and Executive Producer of the Batman movie franchise and co-curator of the Excelsior! exhibit at the museum, got DC to agree to give Lee a go at re-imagining all of the big DC Universe heroes–Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Shazam, Aquaman, and more–as part of the Just Imagine! line of comics in 2001. The comics are on display as part of the exhibit and Uslan gave Cherry the Geek TV the full story during San Diego Comic Con 2023.
