Zombies, drugs, delusions, and memories will have horror fans on the edge
‘Psychosis’ follows Cliff Van Aarle a criminal fixer hired by two drug dealers who swear zombies are behind a deal gone bad as Cliff investigates the story and pitfalls of the criminal underworld and vigilante both after with the man or monster at the heart of the mystery.
This is Pirie Martin writer/director of ‘Psychosis’ debut feature film that has been screened at film festivals across the world before streaming TVOD now and will be available on AVOD this October 4th in time for spooky season. The film won numerous 2023 Film Festival Awards including Best Experimental Horror at the 2023 Horror Fest International Film Festival, the 2023 Sherman Oaks Film Festival winner of the Grand Jury and Audience Awards, and Won Jury Award: Best Feature at the 2023 Philadelphia Unnamed Film Festival. As well as crisscrossing the UK, Germany, and USA at festivals.
Horror fans will now be able to see ‘Psychosis’ AVOD/TVOD as Pririe explores paracusia in the genre to immerse viewers by audio and visual with a ‘whodunit’ if memories are real or something else. The director/writer was influenced by pulp thrillers ‘Oldboy’ and ‘La Haine’ to enhance and enrich storytelling to tell the story in a darker and grittier style based on reality (or maybe not). It looks intriguing and is a must-see for fans of horror, mystery, and procedural genres.
The story also lightly touches themes of trauma and (quite literally) psychological scars. i’m intrigued by how past experiences can have such a profound effect on how we interpert the present. but above all this film is intended as an experimental piece of surreal entertainment, and given the greater freedom afforded by indie filmmaking, something wholly unique to my voice as a storyteller.

Criminal fixer Cliff Van Aarle’s unique psychological condition gives him an edge in the criminal underworld, but when he’s hired by two amateur drug dealers claiming they were attacked by ‘zombies,’ Van Aarle is dragged into a terrifying and bizarre mystery that will test him to his limits.
Amid a cacophony of hallucinatory voices guiding him from his subconscious, Van Aarle searches for answers along a hauntingly familiar path of death and psychological torture. The case gets stranger still with the arrival of a delusional vigilante, LoneWolf, and the revelation that the mastermind behind it all may be more monster than man.
A surreal conspiracy of mind control, psychedelic drugs, and a criminal underbelly terrified of the enigmatic drug lord ‘Joubini,’ who uses hypnosis with lethal effect. Van Aarle may be the only one equipped to bring him down, but only if his mind survives the trip.
PYSCHOSIS is written, directed, produced, and edited by Pirie Martin. Cinematography by Isaac Szepessy. Executive Produced by Jarrad Bhatia and Martin. Composed by Matthew Morison and Adrian Schmidt Mumm.
