If you were a 90’s kid, chances are you were parked on your ‘orange’ couch and watching SNICK on Nickelodeon. Apart of the Saturday night lineup was All That. The kids comedy show that introduced memorable sketches such as Vital Information, Good Burger, Repairman, Loud Librarian and many more. The show helped launch the careers of Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, who will now be serving as Executive Producers for the reboot. It may seem like Hollywood is rebooting everything these days, but I’m glad for a kids comedy show that I know I can sit down with my 7 year old and have a good laugh together. Nickelodeon recently released a new short video depicting the new cast members and what skills they will be bringing to the show.
As soon as the video hit the airwaves, adults took to social media platforms and expressed their distaste for the reboot calling it ‘not funny or original’. Nickelodeons Twitter account hit back against the haters and let them know that the new show is made by kids and is for kids. I can understand that having your favorite childhood movies and tv shows redone can be a kick in the nostalgia. But if you were to go back and watch some of those programs as an adult, you will definitely see that it was probably more hilarious and good to you as a kid.
I for one am excited for the new series to drop and I will be camped out on my now brown leather couch, waiting for it to come on my television screen. The new All That premiers June 15th 8:30pm ET on Nickelodeon and will feature musical guest The Jonas Brothers and a few cast members from the original show.
