The Hunger Games Costume Auction is less than two weeks away. This is a very special auction of screen-worn wardrobe from the hit motion picture The Hunger Games.
Included in this auction is the famous brown leather Hunting Jacket worn by Katniss Everdeen, portrayed by Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence. This same jacket was also worn in Catching Fire.
Also in this auction is the spectacular and glimmering Fire Dress. This dress was specially made with thousands of Swarovski crystals adorning the lower section that sparkle as the dress moves.
Over 200 original screen-worn costumes from this hit blockbuster will be on the auction block. Opening bids start as low as $100.
Bidding will be live, internet and phone. Please register to bid early.
We hope to see you there!
“The Hunger Games auction allows fans to virtually step inside the world of the 12 Districts, the Capitol, and the brutal realm of the Games. Fans are afforded a once in a lifetime opportunity to actually own Katniss’ leather hunting jacket, or her “Girl on Fire” dress, or to dress up as one of the flamboyant denizens of the Capitol…or as one of the color-coded District tributes. It is rare to be able to acquire wardrobe so early in a franchise’s history, since it took a phenomenon like the Star Trek television and film series 40 years to reach the auction block. With the November Hunger Games auction, you could go and see The Hunger Games sequel (also out in November) wearing Katniss’ actual leather hunting boots.” -Jennifer Smith is a California University Professor of Art History, a writer, and a collector of original film and television props and costumes.
