Halloween on Hulu

Hulu always brings the scares!

We’ve still got a few weeks in the spooky season and Hulu has shows that you have to enjoy popcorn and soda (or beverage of choice). I’m excited to see the new horror movie Bad Hair streaming on October 23rd. I was excited to hear about it from Sundance Festival but was unable to see it so am delighted that Hulu picked it up. It looks like a blast with a great cast that brings back memories of hair salon horrors. Monsterland that is available now stars two of my favorite actors Nicole Beharie and Kelly Marie Tran that are fighting for their lives from creatures of myth. Helstrom is new on Hulu and has a great hook about Helstrom siblings hunting evil while dealing with the legacy of a serial killer father. Clive Barker’s anthology Books of Blood weaves three stories that will make you shiver.

Encounters with mermaids, fallen angels, and other strange beasts drive broken people to desperate acts in Monsterland, an anthology series based on the collection of stories from Nathan Ballingrud’s “North American Lake Monsters.” The series stars Kaitlyn Dever, Jonathan Tucker, Charlie Tahan, Nicole Beharie, Hamish Linklater, Marquis Rodriguez, Bill Camp, Michael Hsu Rosen, Taylor Schilling, Roberta Colindrez, Adria Arjona, Trieu Tran, Kelly Marie Tran, Mike Colter and Adepero Oduye.

The son and daughter of a mysterious and powerful serial killer, Helstrom follows Daimon (Tom Austen) and Ana Helstrom (Sydney Lemmon), and their complicated dynamic, as they track down the worst of humanity — each with their own attitude and skills. Helstrom stars Tom Austen, Sydney Lemmon, Elizabeth Marvel, Robert Wisdom, Ariana Guerra, June Carryl, and Alain Uy.

In this horror satire set in 1989, BAD HAIR follows an ambitious young woman (Elle Lorraine) who gets a weave in order to succeed in the image-obsessed world of music television. However, her flourishing career comes at a great cost when she realizes that her new hair may have a mind of its own. The film premiers on October 23rd so get your hair did and favorite cocktail for beautiful horror! Of course with Elle Lorraine, Vanessa Williams, Lena Waithe, Laverne Cox, Jay Pharoah, Kelly Rowland, Blair Underwood, James Van Der Beek and Usher Raymond the eye candy will be popping!

Based on Clive Barker’s acclaimed and influential horror anthology BOOKS OF BLOOD, this feature takes audiences on a journey into uncharted and forbidden territory through three uncanny tales tangled in space and time. The series stars Britt Robertson, Rafi Gavron, Anna Friel, Yul Vazquez, and Freda Foh Shen.
