The Good Food Film Series offers evenings of film and conversation about issues related to our food: How it’s grown, who grows it, and how we can make our food system better and fairer for producers, consumers, and the environment. Each screening includes a panel discussion providing local perspectives.

Enjoy street food from vendors that source from the Santa Monica farmers market. Browse our food-focused bookstore with author signings. Purchase green products from sustainable and food focused vendors. Visit Rediscovered Gems: WPA Agricultural Art featuring remarkable paintings by Works Project Administration Artists from the 1930’s. In addition to the workshops on gardening and urban homesteading, enjoy music, great people, and the beautiful campus of Santa Monica High school.

Localicious

I attended the 30th Anniversary of the Santa Monica Farmers Market at an outdoor beachfront gala featuring 30 of L.A.’s best chefs paired with 30 market farmers on Friday, September 16, 2011.  The localicious gala at the Annenberg Community Beach was a great [slideshow]showed off the fresh ingredients.  The menu included everything from crab to delicious sweet California corn.  I had the opportunity to speak with a few of the farmers, restaurant staff and attendees.
