If you are doing open mics trying to figure out how to make money doing what you love Damon Wayans, Jr. and Kristopher Jones have the app for you. It’s called ‘Special Guest’ app and it’s a game changer in the industry. It’s a booking app to make it simple to find talent for paid gigs.

Damon is part of the Wayan’s dynasty so has grown up in the entertainment industry. Damon has an agent, publicist and support team that a lot of people don’t have that allows him to be a paid successful actor/comic. But Damon still performs at open mics to work on his comedy routines and keep his skill for working in front of a live audience. Over the years he’s seen incredibly talented people at open mics who don’t have an agent so aren’t able to monetize their talent. He thought there has to be a better way and met up with Kristopher Jones to create an app that doesn’t charge the talent instead the booking agent pays.

It’s a platform that allows individuals and managed talent to create profiles with videos, description of skills and expertise with no fees to them. Instead Special Guest is an app to allow bookers/venues to easily find talent to perform. The app allows bookers to easily search for people with talents for events from painting faces at a school carnival, to comics to speak at a teambuilding event or cosplayer to order for opening night party all in one easy to navigate app for a fee.

The app is still growing and they are concentrating on major markets. Currently they are concentrating on the Greater LA market with talent that travels to New York City, Nashville, and Atlanta. They are adding talent in select major metropolitan areas depending on demand. The database has a variety of live talent performers from photographers, comics, MCs, gymnasts, impersonators, singers, rappers and DJs to name a few.
