The new sci-fi/western film Settlers is now playing in select theaters and on all major VOD platforms. Settlers takes place on a remote homestead amongst the Martian frontier, as a refugee family from Earth clings to hope for a better life. But when strangers appear in the surrounding hills and attempt to run them off, nine-year-old Remmy (the amazing Brooklynn Prince of The Florida Project and AppleTV’s Home Before Dark) is faced with the desperate reality her mother (Sofia Boutella, The Mummy) and father (Jonny Lee Miller, Trainspotting, Hackers, TV’s Elementary) have tried so hard to keep from her.
Cherry the Geek TV spoke with Wyatt Rockefeller, the writer and director of Settlers, about the film and its cast, the harsh environments of South Africa which subbed for the Mars landscape, and the production design of the homestead and robot in the film.
Settlers is now playing in select theaters and is available on VOD platforms from IFC Films.
