The Most Dangerous Game New York, season 2 of the Christoph Waltz short-form series whose first season streamed on the now defunct Quibi platform, is now available to watch (along with season 1) at it’s new home on the Roku Channel as a Roku Orginal Series.
Season 2 star David Castañeda sat down to discuss his character Victor, his co-star Christoph Waltz, and even gave us a preview of the upcoming 4th and final season of his hit Netflix series The Umbrella Academy. You can watch the full interview by clicking on the link below:
In Most Dangerous Game New York, Castañeda stars as Victor, a down-on-his-luck fighter, will do anything to protect his sister – and when he learns she’s in trouble – he springs into action. Needing to come up with a half a million dollars to protect her – he agrees to participate in a deadly game – to be hunted through the mean streets of New York for 24 hours by five of the most experienced hunters in the world. If he survives, he’ll make a fortune. Out of love for his sister – he’s determined to live…
The Most Dangerous Game began as a short story by Richard Connell in 1924. The story features a big-game hunter from New York City who falls from a yacht and swims to what seems to be an abandoned and isolated island in the Caribbean, where he is hunted by a Russian aristocrat. It was turned into a film in 1932 starring Joel McCrea. Since then, it has been changed and adapted into numerous films (John Woo’s Hard Target, Surviving the Game, The Hunt), radio dramas, comic books, and TV episodes.
This new version includes the use of technology not seen in previous adaptions, has a strong cast (this is definitely my favorite Christoph Waltz character outside of his two Oscar-winning Tarantino characters from Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained), and features a collection of hunters with unique weapons (No guns allowed).
The Most Dangerous Game New York is now available to stream for free on The Roku Channel.
