CHERRY THE GEEK TV-INTERVIEW: ‘BLACK-ISH’ CAST AT PALEYFEST

The cast of ABC’s Black-ish, along with Producer Courtney Lilly, gathered at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood Sunday night to celebrate eight seasons of the groundbreaking comedy as part of PaleyFest.

Lilly was joined by Star and Executive Producer/Showrunner Anthony Anderson (Dré Johnson), Tracee Ellis Ross (Rainbow Johnson), Marcus Scribner (Andre Johnson, Jr.), Miles Brown (Jack), Marsai Martin (Diane), Jenifer Lewis (Ruby), and Yara Shahidi (Zoey). The penultimate episode was screened for the fans before the cast took the stage to discuss the series.

Before the event, Anderson and Shahidi stopped by to chat with Cherry the Geek TV about the show, their favorite episodes, and the impact Black-ish has had on them personally and in the culture.

As one of the first festival’s focused on the Television industry, for 39 years PaleyFest has presented cutting-edge programs and connected TV fans with the stars of their favorite shows. Produced by The Paley Center for Media, this year’s festival takes place April 2-10 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. This year’s celebration features today’s most acclaimed, buzzworthy, and impactful tv shows with a special screening picked for the audience followed by a panel and audience Q&A with the stars and creators of the series. PaleyFest is open to the public and tickets are currently on sale at PaleyFest.org.

Other shows featured in this year’s festival include Better Call Saul, Cobra Kai, Riverdale, Emily in Paris, Hacks, Superman & Lois, This Is Us, Ghosts, the NCIS Universe, and The Neighborhood.  

PaleyFest supports the Paley Center’s many education initiatives, including classes, workshops, and programming focused on today’s most pressing social issues and serving students and educators globally. It also supports the continued preservation of the Paley Archive, featuring more than 160,000 historically and culturally significant television and radio programs.

Black-ish airs Tuesday nights on ABC.
