The Cartoon Network series Ben 10 is following in the steps of the PowerPuff Girls by getting rebooted this fall internationally and in 2017 in the US. The series originally ran from 2005-2008 and followed a ten year old boy who found a watch that can transform him into ten different aliens. There series spawned multiple spinoffs and movies spanning from 2008-1014. The new series focuses on a re-imagined Ben, Gwen and Grandpa Max as they travel the country for the summer.

The animation style is different from the originals, but the different spinoffs all differ in animation styles. The style featured in the reboot reminds me of the Regular Show, which is also featured on Cartoon Network. I don’t personally like the how the animation looks, but it is like the regular show and I watch that all the time. I will say that the colors are aesthetically pleasing. The clip didn’t really show any villains nor did it tell us the plot, but it did show off the transformation from human to alien. The reboot as a whole could work, especially since there will be new villains. I would prefer a continuation of Ominverse, but beggars cannot be choosers and I’m excited for the reboot.
Ben 10 was one of my favorite shows back in the 2000s. My friends and I always reminisce about that show at the lunch table, and I hope it will prove to be as successful as the original series. As much as I am giving the reboot a hard time, I am actually very excited to see the direction the show will go in. I will definitely be tuning in! Maybe this reboot will make Cartoon Network do an American Dragon: Jake Long spinoff.
