I attended their open house with my friend Justin on Tuesday night at Tiato’s in Santa Monica. It was the first time that I had been at their restaurant. Once you enter through the gateway you are brought into a gorgeous courtyard that is open and where they host happy hour beergarden events on Fridays and Brunches on Sunday. It’s open to enjoy the gorgeous Santa Monica sun and ocean breeze clean air. They were serving a selection of their most delicious Specialty Hors D’Oeuvres and I tried a couple of them. They had a great selection of vegetarian and omnivore bite size treats. The Buddha Roll (daikon, black mushrooms, basil, tofu) was very yummy and had a great bite. The Lemongrass Chicken Wonton (shallots, bell peppers, celery, ginger, Asian pesto) was YUMMY as heck it was crunch spicy and had a great tanginess that I LOVE! AN’s Famous Garlic Noodles are a YES YES YES the taste was out of the world with perfectly seasoned noodles that were perfectly cooked! They were so good I was a bit naughty and had 3 little servings! The Roasted Vegan Tomato Bisque & Mini Grilled Cheese Sandwich was AWESOME the tomato bisque was super fresh tasting and dipping in the grilled cheese sandwich took me back to childhood snacks (if my mother was a great cook! Tee hee!!). I liked the Eggplant Tofu Skewer (eggplant, baked tofu, Vietnamese herbs, black bean glaze) which I was shocked at how much I liked since I’m not an eggplant fan but when you’re a great cook you can make everything taste good!!! The Wok-Seared Beef Lettuce Cup was really good with the crispy lettuce and beef with the good seasoning. It was a great bite and pretty light. I wanted to write about the Mini Kobe Beef Sliders (kobe beef, cheese, spicy aioli) but the other guests consumed them like crazy! Everytime they’d come by with the plates everyone would jump on them and say how good they were! I will definitely go in for happy hour really soon so I can try them out myself!!!
The Five Spice Pudding with Baked Meringue was super crazy yummy!!!! Team that with the Mexican Hot Chocolate and Miniature Cinnamon Twists and I say damn to my calorie count!
I recommend AN catering for any event or holiday party your looking to have since then have some GREAT food.
I also plan to go in for happy hour to enjoy the wonderful friendly fun staff (most handsome bartender EVER looked like a young Mel Gibson!) and the Sofu Mojito (sugar, fresh mint, lime, soju) was great so light on my tongue and smooth. I’ve never had Soju before but plan to have it again really soon!!!!
