Alex Winter has been in his share of horror films (The Lost Boys) and comedies (Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure), but now he’s in a new film (streaming on Shudder) called Destroy All Neighbors, which is blending the two genres together.
Winter spoke to Cherry the Geek TV about the film at the 51st Annual Saturn Awards.
“It’s a lot of fun. It’s really more of a comedy than a horror film,” Winter said. “Kind of like I was in the Bill and Ted movies, I’m buried under pounds of prosthetic makeup so I’m completely unrecognizable, but it’s a ton of fun.”
Winter is big fan genre films. “I love all of it. I grew up as a kid loving horror, and sci-fi, and fantasy–everything from Lon Chaney and Hammer Horror and obviously I was a kid when Star Wars came out and that blew everybody’s mind. Currently, I’m a big Christopher Nolan fan. I think he’s currently one of the grand masters that we have in cinema and every thing he does is worth seeing.”
