Torn Hearts is a little bit country and a lot deadly!
Brea chatted about working on the Katey Sagal starring film Torn Heart which tells the story of ambition in heels and cute dresses in the country music industry (real life in general) where it’s the same old story over and over. How beauty and youth open the doors and no matter how talented the woman somehow a man has his hands in the till (money wise) and trying to be in control. It was a great conversation about country stars that inspired the characters, favorite suspense films that inspired, and putting her own twist on the suspense horror genre.
Torn Hearts Review
Katey Sagal is the queen of manipulation in Torn Hearts as the suspense builds when an up-and-coming duet comes knocking on her mansion’s front gate. Brea Grant directs the film written by Rachel Koller Croft. The movie takes place mostly in her mansion and takes viewers on an unexpected ride. Brea and Rachel take advantage of a strong cast led by Katey that gives clues that everything isn’t right with this Country Queen.Â
Harper Dutch’s (Golden Globe winner Katey Sagal) façade slowly cracks as she sees Leigh (Alexxis Lemire) and Jordan (Abby Quinn) that hit a little too close to her own heyday playing with her sister Hope (Alon McKlveen). The jealousy rises as she tries to right a wrong until the bloody end (and I do mean bloody end).
It’s an interesting suspense horror that gives hints with the use of set design and costume. If you’re a fan of suspense and horror check out Torn Hearts for a thoughtful scare into madness.
