CHERRY THE GEEK TV-INTERVIEW: MORGAN GALEN KING, PHILIP GELATT, AND LARRY FESSENDEN FROM “THE SPINE OF NIGHT”

THE SPINE OF NIGHT is a new, ultra-violent epic fantasy animated film aimed at adults that is set in a land of magic and follows heroes from different eras and cultures as they battle against a malevolent force. It’s got gore and nudity (but not sexual), and it’s old-school rotoscope animated style harkens back to the cult animated films of the late 70s/early 80s–films like Heavy Metal, and Ralph Bakshi’s Fire and Ice.

Cherry the Geek TV sat down with The Spine of Night‘s co-writers and directors Morgan Galen King and Philip Gelatt, as well as indie-horror icon Larry Fessenden (director of Wendigo, Beneath, Depraved, Habit), who voices “The Prophet of Doom” in the film, to discuss how this film came to be.

The voice cast includes Richard E. Grant (Star Wars:The Rise of Skywalker, Bram Stoker’s Dracula), Lucy Lawless (Xena:Warrior Princess, Ash Vs, Evil Dead), Patton Oswalt (Parks and Recreation), Betty Gabriel (Get Out), and Joe Manganiello (Justice League, True Blood).

The Spine of Night is available now on all VOD platforms and will stream on Shudder in 2022.
