COMIC-CON MUSEUM TO LAUNCH EIGHT DECADES OF ARCHIE EXHIBIT

Spread the love
Head over to the new Comic-Con Museum for the ‘Eight Decades of Archie’ as its first exhibit during Comic-Con Special Edition.

Celebrate 80 decades of Archie Comics and all the fun in Riverdale with the world premier showcasing beloved characters of American teenagers. The exhibit will include vintage comic books, original art, unique props and other exclusive memorabilia for fans.

It’s a joy to be able to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Archie Comics with Comic-Con International. The Archie Comics characters are an integral part of the global pop-culture tapestry and have inspired multiple generations of fans and readers since the early 1940s. The ‘Eight Decades of Archie’ exhibit is the perfect way to showcase Archie’s massive historical impact and the continued relevance of these characters and stories.

Jon Goldwater, Archie Comics CEO/Publisher

The Comic-Con Museum will be open year round as a tourist mecca for fans of pop culture and comic-con. The soft opening to the public is November 26 at noon in San Diego’s iconic Balboa Park. The Comic-Con Museum will have six diverse, entertaining, educational and interactive exhibits, screenings, special programming and nighttime activities all in anticipation of the grand opening this summer 2022!!

It’s such an honor to be working on this Eight Decades Of Archie pop-up as part of the Comic-Con Museum’s inaugural season. Given the longstanding relationship between Archie and Comic-Con, I can’t imagine a better venue in which to tell this story – and do so in a way that engages both casual fans and long-time Archie aficionados!

Patrick A. Reed, San Diego Comic-Con Museum Chief Curator

The soft opening of the Museum will occur while Comic-Con Special Edition – the first in-person gathering for San Diego Comic-Con fans since July 2019 – begins at the San Diego Convention Center. However, while Comic-Con Special Edition ends on Nov. 28, the Museum experience will continue throughout the year. Tickets for the Museum, available at https://museum.comic-con.org will also be sold at the Museum; reservations are encouraged as attendance may be limited.
