CBS All Access brought the Star Trek Universe to San Diego this week and they have a fun booth on the exhibit floor all weekend at San Diego Comic Con where fans are invited to step aboard the U.S.S. Discovery and travel to strange and distant lands through an immersive transporter experience.
As fans wait in line, they can view some props from both Star Trek:Discovery and the new Star Trek:Picard which is set to stream later this year on CBS All Access.
Then when it’s time, fans step into a transporter set and the doors close behind them.

The room itself is mirrored on all sides so it acts as sort of an infinity room. For the next 40 seconds or so, they are transported to a variety of different locations with dazzling visuals and the accompaniment of futuristic sound effects.

Finally, before they leave, the fans are able to type in their email address to get their “transporter experience” sent to their inbox. They are then given a Star Trek:Picard pin.
The Star Trek Universe panel, which will focus on Star Trek:Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, and the new animated Star Trek:Lower Decks is scheduled this Saturday from 11:30am-1:00pm in Hall H at the big convention. The Star Trek Universe transporter experience can be found at the CBS All Access Booth #4237 through Sunday.
