2019 is the 40th anniversary of Activision Blizzard and they want to pay homage to the games that started and the new ones that continue this rich legacy and the gamers who love them! They are listening to fans who want products from childhood games and iconic characters from Crash Bandicoot and Spyro franchises and exploring Crash Team Racing and Sekiro™: Shadows Die Twice.
They are looking to the future with ABCPG work with competitive entertainment and the continuing growth of esports via the merchandise program for the Overwatch League™ to appeal to fans and athletes. At the Licensing Expo they showcased products that will enrich video game space for fans of all levels from casual players, viewers and players alike.
They are working across the globe for fans of popular games staring with the first-person action series Call of Duty capsule collection that will be available this Fall 2019. In Europe they are working with Bioworld, KontrolFreek, New Era, Pyramid & Fashion UK to develop/design products to retailers. As well as continuing the partnership with Astro, Scuf Gaming, Surreal, and Rubber Road for Call of Duty licensed programs this year.
Products that are on the horizon include the first ever LEGO Overwatch! Hasbro products include the Overwatch Ultimates Action Figures and NERF Blasters and a new Overwatch Monopoly that will be on a LOT of holiday/birthday wish lists! Stylish fans can look forward UNIQLO exclusive line of clothing across Blizzard franchises, including Overwatch and World of Warcraft®, as part of its Spring/Summer 2019 collection. But what fan DOESN’T love Funko? They’ve added Overwatch Pops! Now for your next gaming play can enjoy Insight Editions Overwatch: The Official Cookbook filled with more than 100 recipes inspired by the heroes of Blizzard’s hit game. Finally, multinational book publisher Scholastic announced preorders for the third installment of the World of Warcraft Traveler book series, aimed at young readers, which is due out later this year. Fans in China can now shop at the official Blizzard Gear Store in China with new ecommerce licensee Baozun on Tmall (Alibaba Group).
The Overwatch League is working with Fanatics with an e-commerce platform Shop.OverwatchLeague.com for official merchandise. Funko will be launching an Overwatch League-themed Pop! As well as New Era, Starter, G-III, Outerstuff, and with Upper Deck with trading cards but it doesn’t stop because in the future they will bring be bringing Call of Duty esports!
