One of my absolute favorite parts about SDCC are the book panels and authors. With everyone occupied with bigger panels like Marvel and all the great items on the exhibit floor, smaller author panels and book signings sometimes go unnoticed and huge book fans are able to slide right in to a room without much wait time in a line.
This years author list hasn’t all been released yet (full list will come within the coming weeks!) but publishers have begun to list which of their authors will be attending the show.
Some of the big named authors this year are: Leigh Bardugo (Ninth House, The Grisha Verse) Rainbow Rowell ( Pumpkin Heads, Eleanor & Park) Marie Lu (Rebel, Batman: Nightwalker) Hafsah Faizal (We Hunt The Flame) Marissa Meyer (Supernova, Cinder) Tomi Adeyemi (Children of Blood and Bone) Tricia Levenseller (Daughter of the Pirate King, Warrior of the Wild) And still more to be announced in the up coming weeks!
Publishers will also list what books they will be giving out and at what time. Some of this years book publishers are: Abrams, Candlewick Press, Del Rey, Disney Publishing Worldwide, First Second Books, Hachette Book Group, Harper Collins Publishing, Penguin Random House, Tor and many more! As the days get closer to SDCC, pubs will release more info about who’s attending, signing and what books will be dropping.
