Teen Geek: Lego Star Wars: the Freemaker Adventures review

Spread the love

Screen Shot 2016-07-13 at 10.48.42 PMAre you a Star Wars loving lego enthusiast? Well  Disney XD’s new animated television show, LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures, is the show for you. It’s a 22 minute series voiced by Vanessa Lengies, Nicolas Cantu, Eugene Byrd, and Matthew Wood.

The Freemakers
gives the audience a new story focused on a scavenger family, the Freemakers. They are a family of three, and the youngest member, Rowan, is extremely strong with the force. As many fans of the infamous series know, when a character is strong with the force the audience can expect multiple hi jinxes. It’s a new story, that doesn’t feature Leia and Luke Skywalker as the main protagonists. But original fan favorites are still featured; Luke and Leia made their first appearance in episode 5 and Darth Vader and Darth Sidious, formerly Palpatine, made their first appearance in episode 1.

The Freemakers salvage parts from destroyed or abandoned ships and use the parts to create new ones, that they then sale to earn a living. But when Rowan discovers an ancient artifact, the Kyber Saber, he discovers his connection to the force. He is then mentored by a seemingly good-intentioned jedi named Naare. This scavenger family is now in the middle of the battle between the Galactic Empire and Rebel Alliance. As there is a search for the Kyber Saber crystals where good and bad are compete to find the crystals. And all is not as it seems.

This show is very interesting and it captivates the audience’s attention from the first scene. All in episode one the viewer will discover so much, and there are multiple introductions of characters, ships, and themes. All in episode one the viewer will discover that Naare doesn’t have good intentions with Rowan and is actually with the Empire.

Overall this a great show and the visuals are what the audience should expect from a lego based television show. It stays true to what is expected from a show with such a strong fan base, it introduces new and old characters that viewers will come to love.

The next episode airs July 18 on Disney XD at 10:00 AM.
