Between 1914 and 1918, 4.7 million U.S. soldiers served our nation in World War I, in addition to 2 million U.S. horses. A century since the start of what was known then as “The Great War”, we remember not only those servicemen and women, but also the brave and selfless horses who marched with them side by side.
